Open House!

Dear Parents,

It’s the 4th week of class. I am starting to see improvements from most of the students. Many of them now realize that it takes time and effort to get better grades. Tonight is the Open House. I look forward to meeting all of you!

This week we completed:

Reading: We read Opt: An Illusionary Tale. It is a story about the land of Opt. Everything is not as it seems. Lines that appear to be different lengths are actually the same!

A New School Year!

Class of 2009 - 2010

Dear Parents,

After a fun-filled summer vacation, here we are back at Tree House. I’m glad that everyone is back here safe and healthy. I’m excited about all the new students that I am going to teach this year and hope that everyone will do their best. This Friday, we are going to a batting cage for Fun Day! I hope that the weather will be sunny and cool.

This week we completed:

Reading: We read the story “Grandfather’s Journey”. It is about a Japanese man that moved to America when he was young. However, after living there for so long, he began to miss home. So he returned to Japan and was reunited with his family and friends. He told his grandson many stories about California. Later, the grandson made a journey to California to see for himself how great it was.

Science: This week, we started chapter 1. We learned about the difference between living and nonliving things. Living things all grow and change. They also reproduce and produce offspring. Another fact about living things is that they communicate with others.
